Chairperson Warren opened the hearing HB2517.
Jason Thompson, Senior Assistant Revisor, provided an overview of the bill and stood for questions. (Attachment 1)
Scott Schultz testified in support of HB2517 stating the bill transfers the certification of substance abuse treatment providers function from the Kansas Department of Corrections to the Kansas Sentencing Commission. The transfer of one full-time position and the salary funding is essentially a statutory amendment required to complete the administrative change. (Attachment 2) Mr. Schultz stood for questions.
