Chairperson Patton opened the hearing on HB2736.  Natalie Scott provided an overview of the bill. She stood for questions.  (Attachment 13)

Proponent

Todd Fleischer stated that HB2736 provides needed liability protection to ensure that optometrists and ophthalmologists are able to continue providing requested information related to a patient’s vision to the Department of Motor Vehicles.  Without this bill, he is concerned Kansas optometrists and ophthalmologists will be unwilling to complete the vision forms due to liability concerns. Mr. Fleischer stood for questions. (Attachment 14)

Proponent Written

  • Larrie Ann Brown, Kansas Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons  (Attachment 15)

Chairperson Patton closed the hearing on HB2736.
