Rachelle Colombo, Executive Director, Kansas Medical Society (KMS), provided neutral testimony on SB200 (Attachment 15). At the request of the Kansas Medical Society, the proponents have included language to further refine the criteria the advisory committee considers in determining the appropriateness of the therapy. The amended items were provided. KMS appreciates the proponents efforts to work in good faith to address some of KMS's concerns. While KMS does not support the underlying bill, it believes the process between the professions has yielded a much better product. KMS welcomes discussions with pharmacists, the Board of Pharmacy, and the Board of Healing Arts about reviewing and expanding statewide protocols for health conditions listed here. KMS does not feel that SB200 is necessary, but it feels it represents improved policy and collaborative work of the affected parties.
