Chairperson Bergquist opened the hearing on HB 2653 and requested Assistant Revisor Mike Heim to deliver an overview of the bill. Revisor Heim completed the overview and answered questions from Committee members.
Chairperson Bergquist asked Representative John Toplikar to give proponent testimony on HB 2653. (Attachment 1) Representative Toplikar delivered his testimony and distributed a copy of his proposed amendment to the bill. (Attachment 2) Representative Toplikar responded to questions from Committee members.
Missy Leavitt, Citizen, also gave proponent testimony. (Attachment 3)
Tammy Davis, Johnson County resident, submitted proponent testimony by video and written script. (Attachment 4)
Providing opponent testimony on HB 2653 was Davis Hammet, President, Loud Light Civic Action. (Attachment 5)
Neutral testimony was submitted by Clay Barker, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, General Counsel. Mr. Barker stood for questions from Committee members. (Attachment 6)
Chairperson Bergquist thanked all the conferees for their testimony and closed the hearing on HB 2653.
