Candice Braksick, Private Citizen, provided testimony in support of HB2617 (Attachment 11). The bill would allow adopted individuals to inspect and be issued records of an immediate family member who is deceased. Ms. Braksick provide background information regarding her failed attempt to retrieve information regarding her father who had given up custodial claim to her and had been adopted by her stepfather. She had maintained a relationship with her father and his family over the years.
Ms. Braksick responded to questions from the committee.
