Chairperson Hilderbrand opened the hearing on SB441.
Jenna Moyer, Staff Revisor gave an overview of the bill. She took questions from committee members.
Dr. David Manheim testified in support of SB441. He stated that SB441, by providing flexibility in the form of disclosure and allowing use of accident records makes it possible to promote laboratory safety without creating undue or unnecessary burden on laboratories. (Attachment 6)

Myron Gunsalus tesified gave neutral testimony for SB441. He said in his testimony that the reporting required by this bill would duplicate the reporting that the KDHE laboratory already provides to the Center for Disease Control (CDC). He also stated that the impact most likely felt would be the cost of developing and maintaining the public website. (Attachment 8)
