Chairperson Patton opened the hearing on HB2507. Natalie Scott provided an overview of the bill. She stood for questions.(Attachment 13)
Proponent
Martha Gabehart stated HB2507 adds the word “disability” to the statute that makes discrimination against protected classes a crime. All of the other protected classes are included in this law and Ms. Gabehart and The Kansas Commission on Disability Concerns (KCDC) believe people with disabilities should have access to this protection as well. Ms. Gabehart and KCDC encourage the committee to pass the bill out favorably. She stood for questions. (Attachment 14)
