Senator Steffen offered an amendment to SB381 that amends KSA 65-1637 and repeals the existing sections (Attachment 3), with a second from Senator Thompson. Discussion followed.
Senator Pettey suggested a substitute amendment to just cover two drugs. There was not a second.
Senator O'Shea offered a substitute amendment, with a second from Senator Pettey. On a voice vote the motion did not pass.
On a voice vote of aye on Senator Steffen's amendment the amendment was adopted.
Senator Steffen offered an amendment to insert the contents of SB398 into SB381, with a second by Senator Baumgardner. Discussion followed. Jenna Moyer, Staff Revisor gave an overview of SB398, as requested by Senator Holscher.
On a voice vote of aye, SB381 as amended with the addition of the contents of SB398 added, was adopted. Senator Pettey and Senator Holscher voted nay.
Senator Erickson moved to insert the contents of SB381 as amended into HB2280 and designate it as Senate Substitute for HB2280 with a second by Senator Baumgardner.
On a voice vote of aye Senate Substitute for HB2280 passed favorably. Senator Pettey and Senator Holscher voted nay.
Chairperson Hilderbrand adjourned the meeting at 9:40 a.m. The next scheduled meeting is February 9, 2022.
