Chairperson Kerschen opened the hearing on HB2203.
Tamera Lawrence of the Revisor of Statutes Office explained the bill.
Leo Henning testified in support of the bill. He explained that the bill permanently establishes the Asbestos Remediation Fund and allows revenues to remain with the Asbestos Program. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment would no longer need Air Quality Fee funds to implement the Asbestos Program.(Attachment 2)
