The Chairperson opened the hearing on HB 2245. Assistant Revisor Adam Siebers reviewed the pertinent aspects of the bill, saying the Division of Vehicles will be allowed to collect emergency contact information from drivers license records, and law enforcement agencies are permitted access to this information in case of an emergency situation. The bill further requires the Division to design license applications so that the applicant can designate contact information for two individuals and include a statement as to confidentiality of the records (Attachment 9).
Written-only proponent testimony was provided by Ed Klumpp, Legislative Liaison for law-enforcement associations (Attachment 10).
The hearing on HB 2245 was closed.
