Mr. Siebers provided an overview for HB2316 stating the bill would repeal K.S.A. 16a-2-403 which is the statute dealing with financial transactions that prohibits sellers from imposing a surcharge when a credit or debit card is used to make a purchase. (Attachment 2)
Representative Mason moved, seconded by Representative Corbet to pass out HB2316 favorable for passage.
Chairperson Smith opened the floor for discussion on the motion for HB2316.
Committee discussion followed.
Representative Mason renewed his motion for HB2316. Motion passed.
Chairperson Smith adjourned the meeting at 4:10 pm.
