Modifying the procedure for declaring and extending a state of disaster emergency, limiting powers granted to the governor during a state of disaster emergency, authorizing the legislative coordinating council and the legislature to take certain action related to a state of disaster emergency and prohibiting the governor or the state board of education from closing private schools during a state of disaster emergency.

Chairperson Patton opened the meeting and explained the hearing on HB2416 today would only be for the Revisor's Office to provide the overview and give plenty of time for questions. After questions are addressed, the committee will move on to final action on bills previously heard.
Chairperson Patton opened the hearing and Natalie Scott provided an overview of HB2416. (Attachment 1) Ms. Scott stood for questions.
Chairperson Patton paused the hearing on HB2416 until tomorrow at 3:30 when the committee will hear all conferees.
