Chairman Olson opened the hearing on SB176 - Enacting the Kansas home inspectors professional competence and financial responsibility act and providing for registration for home inspectors with oversight by the attorney general and called upon Charles Reimer for a Revisor of Statutes overview of the bill.
Chairman Olson called upon Mark Tomb for primary proponent testimony on the bill. Mr. Tomb explained that the bill was necessary to set the minimum standards and insure a basic level of liability standards for home inspection services.

Chairman Olson called upon Ralph Pimetel for primary opponent testimony. Mr Pimetel explained that exemptions for architects and engineers lowers the standards for inspection services.
