Chairperson Bowers opened final action on SB17. Jason Long, staff revisor, reviewed the bill. Senator Francisco distributed and explained a balloon amendment. (Attachment 1) Questions from the Committee were addressed by staff and Justin Stowe, Kansas Legislative Post Auditor. Discussion ensued.
Senator Francisco moved, Senator Faust-Goudeau seconded, to adopt the balloon amendment. Motion carried.
Chairperson Bowers ended debate on the bill indicating that in interest of saving the state money, she would like to work HB2049-Substitute for HB2049 by Committee on Judiciary-Prohibiting a public agency from charging a fee for records requested for an audit by the legislative division of post audit in lieu of SB17.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:57 a.m.
