Chair Jennings opened the hearing on HB2361.

Natalie Scott, Assistant Revisor, gave an overview of HB2361 and stood for questions. (Attachment 1)

Scott Schultz, Executive Director, Kansas Sentencing Commission, submitted a HB2361 Prison Bed Impact Assessment for Committee review. (Attachment 2)

The Honorable Glenn Braun testified in support of HB2361 noting he served as a district judge designee on the Kansas Criminal Justice Reform Commission and chair of the subcommittee charged with studying specialty courts is HB2361 proposed legislation from the outcome of that study. (Attachment 3) Questions by the Committee were addressed.

Written only proponent testimony for HB2361 was submitted by Amy Raymond, Director of Trial Court Programs, Office of Judicial Administration. (Attachment 4)
