Staff briefed the Committee on the contents of this bill. (Attachment 12)
Chairman Proehl recognized Representative Rahjes (Attachment 13) who was requesting designating a portion of K-67 highway as the CO I Trenton J. Brinkman memorial highway. This highway runs on the eastern side of the Norton Correctional Facility where CO I Brinkman was employed. He said Officer Brinkman was involved in a fatal accident on his way to work. During his five years at the Facility he earned the respect of the inmates and the community of Norton and they wanted this reminder of the impact Officer Brinkman had on all who came in contact with him.
There were no other proponents, no opponents and no neutrals so the Chairman closed the hearing on HB2247.

The Chairman announced that the next meeting would be on February 17th. He said the Committee would hear HB2263 and HB2295.
