Chairman Waymaster opened the hearing on the bill.
Victoria Potts, Legislative Research Department presented the bill brief. The bill authorizes the state fair board to use moneys n the state fair capital improvements fund for general operations for fiscal years 2021 and FY 2022.
Discussion followed by committee members. It was noted that capital improvements of $1 million for FY 2021, and $1.3 million for FY 2022 was approved in committee. If passed, there would not be a cap on spending.
Ed Berger, Interim General Manager, Kansas State Fair, presented testimony as a proponent of the bill (Attachment 2).
Chairman Waymaster closed the hearing on the bill.
