Chairperson McGinn introduced an amendment for SB 97, which inserted the "urban areas" definition into the bill, limiting the application of the bill to only Sedgwick and Johnson counties. Opponents William Sneed and Pam Scott spoke briefly against the amendment, stating that all cemeteries should be treated the same and the amendments does not shift their original opinion of the bill. Proponent Mark McGilley spoke favorable of the amendment and clarified allegations made about McGilley's current funeral home status. Discussion within the committee ensued. (Attachment 1)
Chairperson McGinn moved. Senator Bowers seconded, to approve the amendment. Motion carried.
Chairperson McGinn adjourned the committee at 9:54AM. The next meeting is scheduled for February 16, 2021 at 9:30AM.
