Chairman Longbine opened the hearing on SB78.
Eileen Ma, Assistant Revisor, Kansas Revisor of Statutes Office (ROS) presented an overview of the bill. (Attachment 1) She answered questions from Senator Peck.
Chairman Longbine called for oral proponent testimony:
Lee Modesitt, Director of Government Affairs and Communications, Kansas Insurance Department (KID) appeared in person. (Attachment 2) He answered questions from Chairman Longbine, and Senators Hilderbrand, Peck, Gossage, and Pittman.
The Chair pointed the committee's attention to the written-only proponent testimony of Liz Pujolas, Director State Affairs, Insured Retirement Institute (IRI) who was present for the hearing via Webex remote. (Attachment 3)
There was no oral or written-only opponent testimony submitted.
Oral neutral testimony was submitted by William Sneed, Legislative Counsel for America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), who appeared via Webex remote. (Attachment 4)
Chair Longbine pointed attention to the written-only neutral testimony submitted by Marlee Carpenter, Kansas Association of Property and Casualty Insurance Companies (KAPCIC). (Attachment 5)
There being no other proponent, opponent, or neutral testimony at this time, Chairman Longbine closed the hearing on SB78.
