Senator Francisco offered balloon amendment #6 to the committee which further clarifies the exemptions within the bill. Discussion ensued. (Attachment 8)
Senator Warren offered substitute amendment #5 to the committee, further defining exemptions and vocabulary within the bill. Senator Warren moved. Senator Bowers seconded, to adopt the substitution amendment. Motion carried. Senator Francisco requested to be recorded as a no vote. (Attachment 9)
Senator Warren introduced balloon amendment #7 to the committee which allocates a sunset or expiration to the bill and also adds the word "abatement" in the wording. (Attachment 10)
Senator Warren moved. Senator Bowers seconded, to adopt the balloon amendment. Motion carried.
Senator Bowers moved to pass SB 52 as amended. Seconded by Senator Francisco. Motion carried.
After no additional conferees or agenda items, Chairperson McGinn adjourned the meeting at 10:31AM. The next meeting is scheduled for February 9, 2021 at 9:30AM.
