Chairman Waymaster opened the hearing on the bill.

David Wiese, Office of the Revisor of Statutes, (Attachment 5) provided the bill brief.  Committee members received a copy of the fiscal note on the bill (Attachment 6).  The bill extends the transfers from the expanded lottery act revenues fund to the university engineering initiative.

Tom Roberts, Kansas Society of Professional Engineers presented testimony as a proponent of the bill (Attachment 7). 

David Soffer, Legislative and Policy Director, presented testimony as a proponent of the bill (Attachment 8).

Erik Stafford, Kansas Chamber, presented testimony as a proponent of the bill (Attachment 9).

Mike Gibson, Associated General Contractors of Kansas, presented testimony as a proponent of the bill (Attachment 10).

Jayden Lane, Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce, presented testimony as a proponent of the bill(Attachment 11 ).

Joseph Drimmell, American Council of Engineering Companies presented testimony as a proponent of the bill (Attachment 12).

Blake Flanders, Kansas Board of Regents, presented testimony as a proponent of the bill (Attachment 13).

John Jenks, Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, presented testimony as a proponent of the bill (Attachment 14).

Hugh Carter, The Chamber of Lawrence, Kansas, presented testimony as a proponent of the bill (Attachment 15).

Matt Lindsey, Kansas Independent College Association, presented testimony in neutral position of the bill (Attachment 16).

Conferees responded to questions by committee members.

The following written testimony as proponents of the bill were as follows: Kevin Walker, Overland Park Chamber of Commerce (Attachment 17); The University of Kansas, Kansas State University, Wichita State University and business testimonials (Attachment 18);  Manhattan, Emporia, Topeka & Lawrence Coalition of local Chamber s of Commerce (METL) (Attachment 19);and Tashayla Person, Civic Council of Greater Kansas City Attachment 20).

 The Chairman closed the hearing on the bill.
