Mr. Siebers provided an overview for HB2106 which extends the timeframe when corporations are required to file tax returns. (Attachment 5)

Kent Eckles, Kansas Chamber testified as a proponent for HB2106 that would extend the deadline for filing corporate tax returns to 30 days after the federal deadline (Attachment 6)

In response to a request from Chairman Smith, Kathleen Smith, Kansas Department of Revenue stated the department has extended the deadline for the Kansas Corporate Income Tax Returns for the last three years based upon the request from the Council on State Taxation (COST) which has been done for 2017, 2018, and 2019.   

In response to a question, Ms. Smith stated from the Kansas Department of Revenue's standpont it would be better handled within the statue.
