The hearing was opened. Mr. Reimer provided an overview. (Attachment 1) The bill would amend the law to exempt filing fees for certain business formation documents filed with the Secretary of State by Kansas residents who provide documentation deemed necessary by the secretary showing that they are veterans or current members of the armed forces.
Robert Bruchman, Bruchman Law Firm, LLC, provided proponent testimony. (Attachment 2) This is a way to honor those who have served our country and call Kansas home. It gives active military members and veterans an extra incentive and encouragement to start their businesses here in Kansas.
