Scott Wells, Revisor provided an overview of HB2023 noting the bill would sunset the provisions of the addition and subtraction modifications associated with the non-wage business income exemption retroactive to January 1, 2017. In addition the bill also sunsets two other modifications which are an addition for the federal net operating loss and subtraction modification net gain of certain livestock held for 12 to 24 months. Mr. Wells stood for questions.
The Committee asked questions about the federal net operating loss regarding carry back and carry forward options and the glide path formula.
Sam Williams, Acting Secretary Department of Revenue presented testimony in opposition to HB2023. (Attachment 1) Mr. Williams noted the fiscal bill for HB2023 is being revised and will be provided to Committee members Monday morning, January 23. After all questions were answered, the Chairman thanked Mr. Williams.
