The Chairman opened the hearing on HB2566 - Making the criminal penalty for possession of THC equal to the criminal penalty of possession of marijuana. Jenna Moyer provided an overview of the bill. (Attachment 12)
Scott Schultz spoke in support of HB2566 and provided background history on the development of the bill. Under current statutes the consequences for being charged with possession of THC are greater than those for possession of marijuana. This bill would make them equal. (Attachment 13) Mr. Schultz answered questions from committee members.
Nick Reinecker spoke as a neutral conferee on HB2566 and expressed his opposition to the prohibition on cannabis. (Attachment 14) Mr. Reinecker answered questions from the committee.
There were no opponents to HB2566.
