Chairperson Tyson opened a hearing SB440.
Adam Siebers presented to the Committee an explanation of SB440. He stood for questions.
Karren Weichert presented testimony to the Committee in support of SB440 by detailing her company's services compared to other not-for-profit companies who are sales tax exempt. She offered how her company could "serve more people in Kansas communities by providing healthcare services and other assistance to individuals who may not otherwise receive that care". (Attachment 5) She stood for and answered numerous questions.
No testimony neutral to SB440 was presented to the Committee.
Written only testimony presented to the Committee in opposition to SB440 was provided by Dave Trabert, Kansas Policy Institute (Attachment 6).
