Chairperson Tyson opened a hearing on SB429.
Adam Siebers presented information to the Committee by describing SB429. He stood for questions.
Ray Maloney presented testimony to the Committee in support of SB429 by providing a thorough and detailed analysis of the entire subject concerning the business of scrap metal collections. (Attachment 1) He stood for and answered numerous questions.
Written only testimony presented to the Committee in support of SB429 was provided by Brad Smoot, Advantage Metals Recycling (Attachment 2).
Leslie Kaufman presented testimony to the Committee neutral to SB429 by understanding "the need for extending the implementation period as outlined" in the bill, the companies she represents feels "significant strides must be made to fund, house and develop the scrap metal database". (Attachment 3) She stood for questions.
Written only testimony presented to the Committee neutral to SB429 was provided by Derek Schmidt, Kansas Attorney General (Attachment 4); and Randy Stookey, Kansas Grain & Feed Assn./Kansas Agribusiness Retailers Assn./Renew Kansas (Attachment 5).
