Matt Sterling gave a brief reminder to the committee of the content of HB2145, which prohibits the possession of a firearm by certain individuals.
Senator Ty Masterson spoke to the committee regarding a proposed amendment for HB2145 dealing with a manufactured item known as throwing stars. (Attachment 8)
Discussion and questions were offered by Senators: Olethe Faust-Goudeau, Bruce Givens and Lynn Rogers.
Senator Ty Masterson moved to amend HB2145 with his proposed amendment and to include the conceptual amendment to have the bill take effect upon publication in the Kansas Register, seconded by Senator Rob Olson.
Discussion ensued.
Motion to amend passes by vote.
Senator Lynn Rogers asked his vote be recorded as no on the amendment.

Senator Caryn Tyson moved to amend HB2145 per the proposed balloon, seconded by Senator Rob Olson.
