Chairman Waymaster opened the hearing on the bill.
Dylan Dear provided a briefing on the bill. The bill would authorize expenditures totaling $111,078.19 from all funding sources, of which $11,761.19 is from the State General Fund (SGF). Any fiscal effect associated with the bill is not reflected in the FY 2019 Governor's Budget Report. A review of the claims against the state followed.
Dylan Dear responded to questions from committee members. He stated that it was his understanding that the Motor Fuel Tax refund must be filed within one year after the year has expired, which he will verify with the Office of the Revisor of Statutes. Background information and discussion followed regarding the claim against the State from Barbara Reece and confiscated funds that were not returned to her but owed. It was noted that she did not receive reimbursement last year or file a claim this session. Regarding Mr. Shoemaker's claim, there was an authorized payment of $18,107.34 for partial reimbursement of expenses related to licensing as a home health agency.
