Chairperson Tyson opened a hearing on SB415.
Josh Roe presented testimony to the Committee in support of SB415 by giving "estimates of sales tax revenues generated on the fairgrounds". (Attachment 1) He stood for questions.
Bob Moeder presented testimony to the Committee in support of SB415 by detailing the state of "numerous buildings that are absolutely in need of repairs. The main two are Bison & Expo, both are in need of major capital investments". (Attachment 2) He stood for numerous questions.
Virginia Crossland-Macha presented testimony to the Committee in support of SB415 by explaining how "the Kansas State Fair has seen little consistency in the transfer of the statute required $300K match from the Kansas State General Fund to the State Fair Capital Improvement Fund". (Attachment 3) She stood for numerous questions.
Jillian Keller presented testimony to the Committee in support of SB415 by giving her history of actively participating in the fair through 4H. (Attachment 4) She stood for questions.
Brody Nemecek presented testimony to the Committee in support of SB415 by describing his experiences with the State Fair as a livestock producer during his teenage years. (Attachment 5) He stood for questions.
Susan Sankey presented testimony to the Committee in support of SB415 for allowing "needed improvements to the made to the Fairgrounds". (Attachment 6) She stood for questions.
No testimony neutral to or in opposition to SB415 was presented to the Committee.
When all questions from the Committee were answered, Chairperson Tyson closed the hearing on SB415.
