Staffed briefed the Committee on the contents of this bill and answered questions.
Chairman Proehl recognized Don McNeeley as the proponent for this bill. (Attachment 2) According to Mr. McNeeley, prior to introducing SB294, this amendment was proposed and discussed with the KS Dealer Review Board and the KS Division of Motor Vehicles, receiving support from both. He said this bill simply eliminates the annual salesperson license renewal testing requirement. He stood for questions.
There were no other proponents. Chairman Proehl drew the Committee's attention to written testimony submitted in support of this bill by Lee Ann Phelps, Vehicle Services Manager, Division of Vehicles, KDOR. (Attachment 3) There were no opponents and no neutrals so the Chairman closed the Hearing on SB294.

Chairman Proehl announced that the next meeting would be on Thursday, March 8, 2018, and the Committee would do Final Action on four bills.
