Chairperson Schmidt opened the hearing on HB2501.
Scott Abbott, Staff Revisor, gave an overview of HB2501 and answered questions from committee members.
Brenda Dreher gave proponent testimony on HB2501 which would create a Health Occupations Credentialing Fee Fund. Fees from the credentialing of particular health care workers will be dedicated to the costs of administering these programs. Establishment of a dedicated fee fund will result in additional funds which would be available to use to employ additional full-time employees to meet current and future work requirements and the balance for modernization and operations. (Attachment 1)
Questions were posed by committee members. Georgianna Correll, Budget Director at KDADS, answered questions about the fiscal note.
