Chairman Proehl recognized Senator John Doll. (Attachment 1) According to Senator Doll the two young men the memorial highway would be named after were from the town of Wright, Kansas. He said they lost their lives fighting for the United States in the conflict in Vietnam. He said these two friends, Richard Conrardy and Gregg Steimel had much in common, they were both exceptional members of their community and both exhibited unwavering courage and bravery while serving their country.
Representative Houser moved to suspend the rules and favorably pass this bill, seconded by Representative Lusker. There were no objections from the Committee. Motion Carried. Representative Houser further moved to have this bill placed on the Consent Calendar, seconded by Representative Lusker. Motion carried.
Chairman Proehl closed the hearing on SB256 and opened the hearing on HB2605. Staff explained the bill.
