PROPONENTS
Chad Bontrager, Deputy Secretary, Kansas Department of Agriculture, appeared before the Committee in support of HB2729. (Attachment 3) This bill would allow retailers to repackage eggs without downgrading them to Grade B automatically. We do not see a food safety concern with maintaining the original grade, but we do see the need for some specific requirements that should be added to rules and regulations if HB2729 passes.
Drew Sadler, Director of Global Public Policy, Wal-Mart Stores Inc., submitted written only testimony in support of HB2729. (Attachment 4)
