The Chairman recognized Representative Steven Johnson as the first proponent.(Attachment 8) According to Representative Johnson the bill was introduced at the request of one of his constituents who had the experience of registering his Polaris Razor for use in the state of South Dakota. In South Dakota work-site utility vehicles can be registered similarly to a motorcycle for use on state roads. This is a great convenience for residents, or hunters and other visitors exploring their state. There was discussion on the definition of a work-site vehicle so staff looked up the definition and read it to the Committee.
There were no other proponents, opponents or neutrals so the Chairman closed the hearing on HB2722.
