Chairperson Schmidt opened the hearing on SB386.
Scott Abbott, Staff Revisor, gave an overview of the bill.
Max Foster testified in support of SB386 stating that if passed, SB386 will allow individuals who meet the educational subject matter areas currently required, but who have a degree in a field related to Counseling, to be able to be licensed by the Behavior Sciences Regulatory Board. (Attachment 1)
Written testimony in support of SB386 was submitted by Andrew Secor, Kansas Counseling Association. (Attachment 2)
Questions were posed from committee members. Chairperson Schmidt closed the hearing on SB386.
Chairperson Schmidt asked for a motion to pass SB386. Senator Bollier moved, Senator Taylor seconded, to recommend SB387 favorably for passage. Motion passed.
