A summary of the provisions of SB283 from the OSBC was distributed. (Attachment 2)
Chairperson Kelly opened the hearing on SB283.
Brock Roehler testified in support of SB283 saying that adoption of the bill would update the Kansas Banking Code by further protecting and preserving the integrity of the state banking system and permit the agency to recruit personnel to fulfill the agency's regulatory responsibilities (Attachment 3) Mr. Roehler addressed questions from Committee members and deferred some questions to Commissioner Bowman and Tim Kemp, OSBC Director of Examinations, who were in the gallery.
Doug Wareham testified in support of SB283 saying that the KBA supports adoption of the bill for the reasons stated by the OSBC. (Attachment 4). Mr. Wareham addressed questions from Committee members.
There being no further conferees, Chairperson Kelly closed the hearing on SB283.
