The Chairman recognized Luke Schulte who testified on behalf of the Special Olympics distinctive license plates. (Attachment 2) According to Mr. Schulte their organization reaches into all 105 counties in Kansas by having 107 Local Programs. He said in addition to sports they focus on the health, wellness and leadership skills of their athletes. He said with the passage of a Special Olympics Kansas license plate, each Kansan will be able to show their support of the Special Olympics athletes in their hometowns.
There were no other proponents, opponents or neutrals so the Chairman closed the hearing on HB2599 and opened the hearing on HB2606.
