Chairperson Tyson opened a hearing on SB345.
Adam Siebers presented to the Committee an explanation of SB345 by describing in detail the sales tax exemption request. He stood for questions.
Senator Sykes presented to the Committee testimony in support of SB345 by saying "savings from tax exemptions on the construction projects will provide additional funds to make more accessible bathrooms that a person can use independently, more ramps, wider doors, and ceiling lifts that reduce falls and injuries". (Attachment 4) She stood for questions.
Janel Bowers presented to the Committee testimony in support of SB345 by explaining how a sales tax exemption will help supplement a recently received grant to help "ensure that . . . renovations [are made] without having to consider rental increases and ensure that rents do not exceed 30% of [an] individual's income". (Attachment 5) She stood for and answered numerous questions.
