The Chair opened the hearing on HB2446 - Allowing for a ranking minority member on joint committee for Kansas security.
Staff Jenna Moyer explained that the bill applies only to the Joint Committee on Kansas Security and directs that a ranking minority member be designated by the minority leader of the House in odd-numbered years and by the minority leader of the Senate in even-numbered years (Attachment 3).
As a member of the Joint Committee on Kansas Security, Representative Ruiz testified in support of the bill,
The Chair closed the hearing on the bill and announced plans to work the bill at the next meeting.
