Chairman Wilborn announced a change in agenda moving the briefing by staff on SB180 - Providing for law enforcement agencies to request and receive files concerning applicants previously employed by another state or local law enforcement agency to Thursday, January 25.
The Chairman opened the hearing on SB280 - Amending court considerations in parentage actions regarding legal custody, residency and parenting time. Jenna Moyer provided an overview of the bill. Ms. Moyer answered questions from the committee. (Attachment 2)
Charles Harris offered support for SB280. The bill is the product of the Judicial Council advisory committee he chairs and is supported by the Judicial Council. He believes SB280 provides protection for children of unmarried couples by applying the same rules regulating divorce cases to parentage cases. Mr. Harris answered questions from committee members. (Attachment 3)
