Chairperson Schmidt opened the hearing on HB2106.
Scott Abbott, Revisor, gave an overview of HB2106. He advised that technical amendments would be needed as bill is a carryover from last session.
Proponent testimony was presented by:
Stuart Little testified as a proponent of HB2106, which will reduce bureaucracy in licensing of treatment facilities. (Attachment 17)
Shane Hudson spoke in favor of the passage of HB2106 stating that the redundancy of licensing and accreditation visits consume valuable resources which could be utilized in more important work. (Attachment 18)
The Committee asked several questions of the proponents. Senator Kelly asked Cody Gwaltney of KDADS, who was in the audience, what KDADS position was on this bill. He stated that they were neutral on HB2106.

Chairperson Schmidt closed the Hearing on HB2106.
Senator Masterson asked that HB2343 be moved to Final Action. Chairperson Schmidt then opened Final Action.
Senator Masterson moved, Senator Bollier seconded to recommend HB2343 favorably for passage. Motion passed..
