Chairperson Longbine opened the hearing on HB2111. Elaine Ma gave a brief summary of the bill.
Alan Conroy presented informational testimony regarding HB2111, as amended, and SB137, as amended by the Senate Financial Institutions and Insurance Committee. Mr. Conroy told the members these bills are identical in their amended forms, and SB137 is currently being considered on the Senate floor. (Attachment 1)
Ed Klumpp testified in favor of the bill. He stated that this bill is about fairness to the surviving family and spouse of a KP&F member who dies prior to retirement in the line of duty. It assures the family receives the best KP&F benefit the deceased loved one had earned in the System. (Attachment 2)
