Vice Chair Kershcen opened a hearing on HB2036.
Matt Lindsey presented testimony to the Committee in support of HB2036 by saying "several of Kansas' independent colleges and universities offer academic programs directly related to the aviation industry . . . their students and industry partners, would benefit substantially from the programs conceived in the bill". (Attachment 14) He stood for questions.
Jason Watkins presented testimony to the Committee in support of HB2036 by saying the bill "is a much needed measure that would enhance our state's ability to compete for high paying jobs in an economic sector that Kansas once dominated". (Attachment 15) He stood for numerous questions.
Written testimony presented to the Committee in support of SB2036 was provided by Mitch Robinson, Salina Community Economic Development Organization (Attachment 16); Justin Welner, Spirit AeroSystems (Attachment 17); Timothy Rogers, Salina Airport Authority (Attachment 18); Jim Walters, Textron Aviation (Attachment 19); and Justin Gage, Salina City Manager (Attachment 20).
