Chairman Kerschen opened the hearing on HB2136.
Tamera Lawrence of the Revisor's Office explained the bill.
Chad Bontrager testified in support of the bill. He said that in order to reduce state general fund and petroleum inspection fees, the weights and measures program needs to increase the maximum registration cap to $100 in 2017 and to $130 in 2023. The bill also would allow technicians who had 10 years of continuous licensure in Kansas with no administrative enforcement action against them to reduce the frequency of continuing education requirements to once every three years.(Attachment 8)
