Short Title

Enacting the Kansas protection of firearms rights act.

Chairperson LaTurner opened the hearing on SB 121.

Kris Kobach stated that SB 121 clarifies Kansas law and restores its original intent in three critical areas:expungement of crimes, lifetime prohibitions on firearms possession, and concealed carry rights.(Attachment 9)

Bret Hildabrand stated that SB 121 clarifies language for the restoration of firearms rights and aligns with expungement language used elsewhere in state statute (Attachment  10).

Chairperson LaTurner closed the hearing on SB 121.
