Chairperson Tyson opened a hearing on SB146.
Adam Siebers presented to the Committee an explanation of SB146. He stood for questions.
Patrick Vogelsberg presented testimony to the Committee in support of SB146 emphasizing the "$20,000 exemption of assessed valuation on residential property". (Attachment 9) He stood for questions.
Mark Tallman presented testimony to the Committee in support of SB146 "because without reauthorization of the statewide school levy, Kansas school finance will lose an estimated $635.5 million in FY 2018 and $662.9 million in FY 2019". (Attachment 10) He stood for questions.
Senator Anthony Hensley presented testimony to the Committee in support of SB146 by saying "extending the authorization allows school districts to plan accordingly". (Attachment 11) He stood for questions.
No testimony was presented to the Committee neutral or in opposition to SB146.
After numerous questions from the Committee were answered, Chairperson Tyson closed the hearing on SB146.
