Chairperson Kerschen opened the hearing on HB2192.
Tamera Lawrence from the Revisor's Office explained the bill.
Kansas House Majority Leader Don Hineman testified in support of the bill. He believes that the unique thing about the park is its history, both geological and cultural. This is why it is important to add the word "historic" to the name of the park. (Attachment 1)
Ron Kaufman testified in support of the bill. He believes that because of the historical significance of the land and the lake to Native Americans, the state of Kansas, Scott County and the surrounding areas, the name of the park should be changed to Historic Scott State Park.(Attachment 2)
After brief discussion, Chairperson Kerschen closed the hearing on HB2192.
