Jason Thompson gave a brief on the bill saying that it deals with correction of sentences and provides for a definition of the term "illegal sentence".
Proponent:
Natalie Chalmers shared support for the bill (Attachment 2) saying that it defines illegal sentence as new law and codifies some current law, providing finality for victims. She explained that the incarcerated can't come back and get a shorter sentence for their crime.
Seeing no other conferees, questions or discussion, Chairman Wilborn closed the hearing.
