Chairperson Longbine turned the committee's attention to HB2067 and opened the hearing. Elaine Ma gave a short summary of the bill.
Clark Shultz testified in favor of HB2067. KID believes it is necessary to enhance their resources to ensure that newly licensed insurance agents are properly vetted. By adding a nationwide criminal history report to the already statutory background check for newly licensed agents, Mr. Shultz believes the citizens of Kansas will be best served. (Attachment 5)
Mr. Shultz answered questions from Senators Wilborn, Givens, Billinger, Rogers, Pyle, and Chairperson Longbine.
The Chairperson pointed the committee's attention to the proponent written-only testimony of Dan Murray, on behalf of the Kansas Association of Insurance Agents (KAIA). (Attachment 6
There being no other questions or discussion, and no other conferees or written-only testimony submitted, Chairperson Longbine closed the hearing on HB2067.
